The STEP Award is a competition which awards innovative companies with strong growth potential in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The initiators, Infraserv Höchst and the F.A.Z. Institute, Innovation Projects, pursue a mutual goal with numerous sponsors and partners: to give companies in their growth phase important impulses for their successful development. The STEP Award focuses on emerging industries like pharmaceuticals, chemicals, life sciences, bio- and nanotechnology, medical engineering and green technology. This year saw a record participation of around 120 companies from Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
Contenders must fit in with the following criteria:
• Innovative and fast-growing companies from the pharmaceutical, chemical, life sciences, bio-/nanotechnology, medical engineering or green tech industries
• Small or medium-sized companies with products particularly focused on expansion
• Already implemented or planned crossover from R & D to manufacturing
• Have been in existence for at least one year or are already active on the market
• Or: spin-off companies / management buy-outs
The competition comprises three phases. First the candidature, which involves filling out a short questionnaire to provide information about the growth concept of the company. The second phase is nomination, where candidates are short-listed. Interviews are then carried out with these companies to gain a comprehensive overall impression of the growth potential. In the third phase, the finalists and award winners are selected by a panel of independent experts from the industry and science.
R-Biopharm is proud to have won the award in the "finance" category! The awards ceremony took place at a gala event in the Peter-Behrens Building in the Industriepark Höchst in Frankfurt on December 2nd (see photo).
